Upon landing in Hilo, you will start your day by strolling through Queen Liliʻuokalani Gardens, a stunning Japanese-style garden overlooking Hilo Bay. Visit Rainbow Falls, a stunning 80-foot waterfall just minutes from downtown Hilo and your host will tell you about the community that settled in Hilo that worked the sugarcane plantations and the most eventful tsunami that destroyed this costal town from an Alaska and Chile earthquake. 

Your adventure begins with a comfortable ride through lush upland forests to the Kīlauea Visitor Center, where you’ll get an introduction to the park’s fascinating geology and Hawaiian cultural heritage. Enjoy stopping at breathtaking viewpoints like Steam Vents, Kīlauea Iki Overlook, and Halemaʻumaʻu Crater – a sacred site where Pele, the Hawaiian goddess of fire, is believed to reside.
